Description:
A rectangularly-shaped, grassy and weedy courtyard was replaced with a beautiful landscape. Basins were created to absorb rainwater, raingutter downspouts were directed to those basins, and native plants were installed. Drip irrigation was installed to help get the plants established. Decomposed granite pathways criss-cross the landscape and are sloped to drain into the landscape.
Students helped design and install the garden through two hands-on workshops led by G3/Green Gardens Group. Student help with maintenance.
The garden was designed by G3 and funded by a California Proposition 50 IRWM grant.
