Arlington Inspired in Palms

  The home owner of this project came to me (Landscape Designer: Jacky Surber) asking for a backyard featuring an informal Boccee ball court, colorful plantings and a solution to the flooding that happened when it rained. She fell in love with the idea of lots of little seating areas, and the mediterranean look, when I took her to the Arlington Garden in Pasadena, which was designed by the fabulous landscape designer, Mayita Dinos. Using decomposed granite throughout makes for fun games of Boccee and now the flooding problem is solved with a thriving rain garden that captures all of the runoff from the roof top. The front yard was recently completed.
