  Small front yard. Flat roof on house with no gutters. Added shallow swales in front yard to capture sheet flow of rainwater. Kept mature palms and added a mix of CA native and Mediterranean plants and lots of mulch. Pop-up sprinklers converted to drip irrigation. Sheet mulch and planting help was provided by local Surfriders and neighbors.
