• Description:
  Prominent garden area along parking lot in front of school was just a blob of ivy. A single downspout captures most rainwater from large flat roof. A new 45' long swale through garden area can capture and sink 1500 gallons of rainwater. No additional irrigation in garden area. Area was sheet mulched and planted by local Surfriders and school volunteers. Local landscapers and the City of Ventura Water Dept. also donated labor and materials. Garden was planted with a colorful mixture of CA native and southwestern plants.
