  Taking advantage of the City of Ventura's Turf Removal Rebate Program (version 2.0), we kept the French country/chateau-style theme in this Ocean Friendly Garden by using climate appropriate and native plants, combined with a dry rock riverbed and walkway with a bridge. The left-side downspout feeds a trench that is dug to the right, which feeds the upper part of the garden and helps slow the water down. It joins the downspout on the right, and then is fed into the rock riverbed. There is a mulch basin at the end of the riverbed.
