  This San Luis Obispo front yard was converted from a lawn to an environmentally friendly oasis. After removing the lawn, we built a patio using Old World Cobble, which isn't suitable for permeable construction. To mitigate this, we graded the patio so that rainwater will drain off into an underground french drain that takes the water to a sedge lined swale. We also installed a flagstone pathway with permeable joints, drought tolerant plants, a water efficient irrigation system, and lots of compost and mulch.
